ARTHUR MICHELSON
Mr. Arthur Michelson is a graduate of the SF Conservatory of Music in 1978. He started piano at the age of 8, violin at the age of 11, and guitar at the age of 17. He studied with Rey del la Torre, Alvaro Dalmar and Rodrigo Riera. At the age of 33, he entered the SFCM where his teachers were Phillip Rosheger and George Sakellariou, and graduated in 3 years. He played for Abel Carlevaro at a Master Class which led to private lessons and a long friendship. Michelson has never won a competition because he was too old to enter; he has not concertized widely as he does not enjoy public performance. What he does enjoy, besides playing, is teaching.
